Services & Techniques

At Family Chiropractic Associates, we take great pride in providing the finest chiropractic wellness care to our patients. Below is a sampling of the various services we offer in our offices.

Chiropractic Care

You don't have to be sick to get better.  That is why chiropractic care is important for anyone interested in peak performance and optimal health, regardless of age or lack of acute symptoms.  We provide quality chiropractic care to people of all ages using cutting edge technology to assess the nervous system for disturbances (subluxation) that may interfere with normal health and function.

Chiropractic during Pregnancy

Chiropractic is an essential component to a healthy pregnancy.  Doctors of Chiropractic work with and respect the body’s natural design and function.  It is for this reason that more and more mothers are discovering the many benefits of chiropractic.  Chiropractic care throughout pregnancy will help support a healthy, positive experience for both mother and baby; making pregnancy what it is meant to be—a beautiful and joyous experience.

Physically and hormonally, chiropractic serves as a vital resource for every mother-to-be. A woman's body experiences many physical changes throughout the course of pregnancy; protruding abdomen, increased back curve, pelvic changes, and postural adaptations. In addition, during pregnancy, many hormones are released which can result in weakened ligaments and joints. Chiropractic can work to counteract these changes and strengthen the body as a whole.

Gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments work to eliminate subluxations throughout the spine and pelvis which in turn leads to greater freedom and relaxation in the supporting muscles and ligaments.  All of which contributes to a higher functioning nerve system.

The Webster technique is an analysis and adjustment that is often used throughout pregnancy to help support these goals.

 Corrective Exercises

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.

Disc Herniation, Disc Bulges/Protrusions, Disc Compression, and Sciatica

Our doctors have extensive experience and knowledge that pertain to these conditions as well as specialized equipment designed to address many spinal disc conditions. The DTS Traction System creates a controlled unloading of the vertebrae to decrease disc pressure thus increasing blood and nutrient exchange.  This exchange of fluids is something a damaged disc desperately needs to help it heal from the inside out.  Muscle strength, control, and endurance can all be improved with other facets of DTS therapy that include specific controlled exercises.

Massage Therapy

Professional massage therapy is absolutely integral to achieving a higher level of health.  Massage Therapy is available through our office by a licensed massage therapist.

Our office provides relaxing therapeutic massage in three beautiful and comfortable rooms.  Types of massage offered include: traditional Swedish, deep tissue massage, neuro-muscular/trigger point therapy, PNF stretching, and myo-fascial release.  Thirty minute and 1 hour massages are available as well as 15 minute chair massages.  Gift certificates are available.  Scheduling is done through our front desk.

Balance is critical to one's health and wellness, in biology this is known as homeostasis. The body is constantly striving to maintain internal stability; coordinating the response of various physiological systems (i.e. circulatory, nervous, immune and endocrine systems) in response to any situation or stimulus.  Modern life, with all its stressors, can put the body in a constant state of “fight or flight” mode, making it difficult for our bodies to maintain balance.  Imbalance can result in disorders such as pain, injury, insomnia, digestive issues, gynecological disorders, allergies, depression, susceptibility to colds, and a myriad of other complications.

Acupuncture helps restore one's natural balance so that organs and bodily systems can work together in harmony.  This sets the stage for the body to repair itself and maintain its own optimal health.

Chinese medicine is a comprehensive system of medicine that is capable of diagnosing and effectively treating a wide range of conditions. Instead of suppressing symptoms, it works with your body to produce true healing.
